Silent Space Lighting

I was commissioned to do the lighting design of an interior balcony serving as a second meditation room for a meditation center I had worked on recently in central L.A. I completely reworked the awkward, old lighting plan by capitalizing on symmetry, which ended up inspiring the zig zag cushion placement for classes. I selected a clean, classic fixture to complement the ornamented buddhist symbology in the room and downstairs temple shrines. The timeless fixture in white contrasts with the 1971 builds dark, wooden architecture in a natural way - even highlighting it. The globes seem suspended at a first glance having a calming effect of stillness.
