Vrbo Master Bath

Barrio Santa Lucía, Santiago, Chile

I decided to play with the early mid century modern aesthetic prevalent in this spacious apartment as well as the Teatro Municipal de Santiago’s and surrounding building’s neoclassical architecture it overlooks.

I knew I wanted a palette to complement the woods right outside the bathroom, especially the original parque floors with a diamond shaped pattern which organically led me to off-whites, blues and ‘brassy’ browns. Full of modernist and mid century-era fixtures sourced from the local flea markets and delicate details such as individually cut Chilean-manufactured tile to coat the skirting board and natural wood paper and towel holders, this master bathroom -like sweetly put by my client- “feels like eating a caramel while watching the opera.”
